This refined sweet white wine is produced entirely from carefully selected overripe Sauvignon Blanc grapes, hand-picked from vineyards in the village of Mircești, located in the Ungheni region of the Codru wine region. This area enjoys a protected geographical indication, which guarantees the exceptional quality of the wine. The wine has a fresh color and reveals in the glass delicate aromas of ripe pear and juicy melon. The taste is a harmonious balance of fruity and spicy notes, which go beautifully together.
The vineyards are located at an altitude of 320 metres, with a slope of 6 degrees and a south-east orientation, which ensures optimum ripening conditions. The wine is aged for two months in acacia barrels, which adds a subtle depth and complexity. This wine has now reached its ideal drinking moment, but can easily continue to age for at least ten years. Perfect to pair with desserts, cheeses and pastries, and is recommended to be served well chilled. The sugar content is 127 g/l, which gives it a rich and full sweetness.
Vineyard description:
Located in the heart of Moldova, Crama Mircești offers breathtaking panoramic views and is known for its harmonious interplay with nature. The restored noble manor house in Brâncovean style has become the symbol of the winery, which is why this region is often compared to “little Tuscany”. The vineyard is located on the rolling Magura Hills, at an altitude of between 270 and 340 meters above sea level, which offers excellent conditions for the grapes to ripen optimally.
With 13 different grape varieties grown, Crama Mircești produces a wide range of exquisite white and red wines. Visitors are welcome to take part in a wine tasting, enjoy a traditional meal on the panoramic terrace, or stay overnight in the estate’s comfortable hotel rooms.
