It happens to everyone that you drink a wine with an incredible wow factor. You go looking for it, but you soon find out that the wine is not available in the Netherlands.
Drinking an icewine from Canada in this case caused the wow effect. One thing led to another and gradually I (Ben Velzeboer) became an official wine importer. At first only importing for family and friends. Later, due to the great enthusiasm and increasing turnover, IJswijnen.nl was founded in 2010. Today we send icewines all over the world.
The range has continued to grow since then. At the request of customers, Beerenauslese was also added in 2013. After becoming active on the business market in 2014, several dry wines were also added to our range. After all, it is just as nice to give an ice wine together with a dry red and/or white wine as a gift to employees, for example. It is not a big deal to order other wines from the winery in addition to the ice wine and Beerenauslese.
I still do IJswijnen.nl in addition to my current part-time job. The packages are often prepared/sent early in the morning or in the evening. During busy periods, temporary workers are hired to deliver all packages on time. Delivery generally takes place within one to three working days. Incidentally, it is also possible to collect the wines in Bakel.
