Bella Terra Vineyards’ flagship, the award-winning 2020 Meritage, now available in our selection. Winner of a Silver medal at both the Wine Align Wine Awards and the Decanter Wine Awards in 2023, this elegant wine is a true masterpiece from the blockbuster vintage. This wine embodies the authentic potential of Cabernet and Merlot in the Four Mile Creek Sub Appellation, home to some of the oldest vineyards.

Carefully selected parcels of the oldest vineyards are used for this blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a touch of Malbec. Each grape variety is aged individually in mainly neutral French oak barrels for 20 months, which gives the wine structure without compromising the natural complexity of its nose and taste. For each vintage, the winemaker selects only the best barrels for bottling, creating an extraordinary assemblage.

The seductive nose opens with notes of juicy plums, accompanied by spicy hints of cardamom and white pepper, adding depth and complexity. On the palate, ripe fruit aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum and fig take the lead, harmoniously intertwined with a hint of spiciness. The wine concludes with an elegant and velvety finish that leaves a lasting impression.

Perfectly paired with a grilled rib-eye steak with a red wine sauce. With an alcohol percentage of 14.9%, a residual sugar content of 3.0g/L, and the possibility to enjoy until 2028 and beyond, this Meritage is a timeless asset for any wine lover.
